Today marks the “official” end of Canada’s mission in Afghanistan – well almost.  Approximately 1,000 Canadian troops and civilians will remain in Afghanistan for some time to come.  I, like many Canadians, support the Canadian Forces – they do a great job anytime and anywhere they go.  However, we do not support the mission which was ill-conceived and flawed from the start.  In total NATO has accomplished absolutely nothing during Canada’s 10 years in that s..t hole of a country.  Except put considerable more money in the hands of the corrupt government and help train/equip the taliban.  The country is even more insecure today than it was 10 years ago.  Over 20 NATO  troops were killed and wounded so far this week – today as Canada leaves, another 4 NATO soldiers were killed.  Was our loss of 157 CF members and our cost of over 25 billion(so far) in tax dollars worth it? – absolutely NOT.  MPC
