The body of MCpl Francis Roy was found by other troops on Sat 25 June 2011 at a forward base in Kandahar City. He was just 32 years old from Rimouski, Que, a member of the Canadian Special Operations Regiment. Although the circumstances surrounding his death is still unclear - it was reported that MCpl Roy died from non-combat related wounds - an investigation into his death has begun. He is the 157 member to die while supporting the Afghan mission. As many as six of these 157 deaths, including two officers, may have been suicides.
