Sad news for all Canadians when reports confirmed that one of our brave young Soldiers, wounded 22 Aug 10 in Afghanistan, had died earlier today in a German hospital. Cpl Brian Pinksen, just 21 years old, was flown to Landstuhl Regional Medical Centre hospital in Ramstein, Germany a couple of days after being injured by an IED. He is the 152nd Canadian Soldier to die on the failed mission in Afghanistan. Cpl Pinksen was a proud member of the 2nd Battalion, The Royal Newfoundland Regiment, out of Corner Brook. In Afghanistan he served with the 1st Battalion RCR Battle Group. Our sincere condolences go out to his family and friends during this difficult time. MPC
